The Wellness Philosophy

Rachel has been teaching yoga for the last 9 years, having completed a 200hr Teacher Training course with senior teacher, Claire Missingham, in 2014. Since then, she has gone on to study and practice extensively with Anna Ashby, completing a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, as well as a further 300hr Advanced Teacher Training Course at Triyoga London. 

On her advanced teacher training journey, Rachel was lucky enough to delve more deeply into the history and philosophy of the various yoga traditions of India, being taught by renowned academics at SOAS University, a part of the University of London. As a bit of a book worm and academically-minded human, this spurred Rachel on to enrol in a part-time 3 year MA degree in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at SOAS. She is now coming to the end of this MA, and is writing her final thesis on the relationship between the breath and the mind in pre-modern haṭha yoga. She is also continuing her Sanskrit studies, which is a particular passion for her. 

Rachel currently teaches weekly Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Restorative Yoga classes in the East London and West Essex area, as well as regular workshops and retreats. In her classes, you an expect a focus on postural alignment, awareness of the natural breath, and nervous system health. All accompanied by an eclectic playlist, and lots of props!
